Thanks for the kind words. What happened to the
film is a long, and now old, story. Vestron went out
of business before it was released. They had sold off
the foreign rights for cash and then no domestic distributor
wanted the film if they didn't have a chance of worldwide
profits. So, it sat in a vault for a couple of years,
then it showed up on HBO, SHOWTIME, etc. -- and then
the Disney Channel. Oddly, while I've discovered that
the film has a lot of as you say diehard fans, it never
had an afterlife nor did any studios contact me either
to write another film or act in one. Such is show business.
Again, thanks for the kind words. - Allan Katz

Hi. I'm a big fan of the film and came across
your site at malooga.com and as Alex would say... "I
don't know about you but I'm very disappointed!"
:). It's a real shame that it's not available on DVD,
it's a classic that includes some flawless timing and
visual comedy. My favourite scenes are the Psyc exam
and the chocolate canteen face. Too many good lines
to pick one. My family & I still quote this film
to the surprise and confusion of others :). I felt inspired
to create this soundboard and pass it on to you (yes,
I had far too much time on my hands!). As you have video
up on your site, I thought some audio wouldn't cause
any copyright concerns. Please feel free to add a page
on your site if you like it. I have attached the flash
swf file for you to include in your pages or as a link
if you prefer. Let me know what you think! - Soop
I never thought Id find so much funny stuff
about this movie online. I have never met anyone else
who has ever seen it, heard of it and in general people
look at me like Im mad, making it up or plain
outright a big fat liar (the big/fat bit is spot on
though). Well done for having the script I was quoting
the two faces when Bob goes into the KFC
place to a friend and was glad to get the set up spot
on perfect. Many thanks for a big trip down memory lane.
I still have the pic, bought it from the video shop
in the late eighties where I had rented it from. Took
it back, raved about it and the manager said if you
liked it you can have it for £3 we never ever
rent it out. So it languishes in my cupboard waiting
for the day I can either afford the space for a VHS
video or get a DVD (lionsgate have been emailed thanks
for that). So keep up the good work and I will have
a mooch about your site. - Stuart
My family watched Big Man On Campus back in the
90's and we got a vhs copy that we watch sometimes.
We do so want to get it on Dvd. If this will be read
by Allan Katz, I want you to know that your writing
and acting are the best. Bob's fans will never give
up. This is a cult fave. - Pat
Just found the website. I have a copy of the
film in VHS and it is one of the funniest films I have
seen and easily one of my favourites. I hope it gets
re-released and promoted on DVD. I am going to put a
clip up on our new website and myspace to help promote
it and get the word out. It still has me in stitches.

Hi there, you have just made my day. A website
dedicated to one of my all time favourite movies. I
first saw this on vhs several years ago and laughed
myself silly. It still does the trick. Great job well
done, treat youself to 2 faces. - Bill
Hi Bob! Just found this site! My adult kids and
I have been fans of yours for years! We quote lines
from the movie constantly! I just sent off an e-mail
asking for a release of the movie on DVD! At my daughter's
wedding, this past June, my son & I dressed in wigs
and beards and did a short version of "Mock-a-Malooga"
at the reception, to screams and applause from all the
guests! Just wanted you to know that you have many loyal
fans out here who still appreciate your talents! Fock-ooo-laka!-
Roger
I just found this website! Big Man on Campus
is in my top five favorite movies. I was Bob for Halloween
one year, I still quote him to this day and I plan to
adopt a greyhound in the future and name him Bob Maloogaloogaloogaloogaloogalooga.
"One Malooga, five loogas". This website made
my day! - A Forever Fan
I was so pleased to read the PDF of the script.
I noticed one line missing-- I wonder if others were
also changed or added when the filming took place? The
segment in the cafeteria where Bob calls Alex a kamula
didn't include the line where Bob further adds, as he
gestures with his fingers to mean tiny, 'Pakula kamula'.
This film is one of my all-time favorites. It deserved
a lot more attention and income than it originally received.

Just found your page through Amazon - and I have
to say Thank You! This is one of my favorite movies
of all time, and I am overjoyed to see that so many
other people love it as well. It's sad to see such a
sweet, touching movie dismissed as merely another
college comedy because I think that could not
be farther from the truth. Again, Thank you. And thanks
to Mr. Katz - not only for writing this movie - but
for turning in a performance that is not only believable,
but kind and loveable. Please thank him also for the
script. I
immediately called my vet to tell him the kitten's name
is spelled Muka (not Mooka) as I had thought.
- Mindy
I definitely want this movie in DVD, why is so
impossibile?! In Italy is known (actually is not known)
by the title of: Ragazze, il mostro è innamorato
(Girls, the monsters in love). Such a terrible
marketing title. Well, just wanted to share my disappointment
in knowing that such funny feature is not yet issued
on DVD. Lets hope very soon. Maybe with some outtake:
it must have been fun to play such a role. Do you have
some pictures of Allan Kats? Just wanted to know how
it looks like. Maka malooga to you from Italy.
- Alberto
I just found your BMOC page and I wonder if you
know of any plans by anyone to produce a collector DVD
for Big Man On Campus? I want to revisit ole Bob so
badly, and the VHS tape is no longer appealing to me
as the medium. In fact I'm qvetching to myself about
it on my MySpace page at http://profile.myspace.com/mentalmob.
I'll try and add the youtube clip there to help others
remember who ole Bob is. Also . . .you got any plans
to expand your page? - Tink
Amazons got it, as does E-Bay (5Bucks). Comedy
central has shown it, destroyed it with editing(No 2
faces!). Butchers! HBO played it. Google it, you'll
find it. I think a Bob Malooga sound board with different
phrases would be hilarious. Not to do this would mean
you are a 'complete and total fool'. KATHY! The original
'Tag' for the movie was "He didn't know why people
hated him, but he had a hunch." Glad to know you're
out there. Now, get to work. - Kenny
